I Still Soar

I Still SOAR

I began to soar so high...held up my head and aimed for the sky The wind lifted me up...I stretched my wings like never before Lost all fear of man and his thoughts.. Tucked, self under the arms of God. My ascent threatened my enemy He sent his storm to target me... Enraged that I had escaped his snare He shot his darts up in the air... His plan was to destroy my height... My strength...my soar. I felt his breath, his anger his rage..at my desire to fly so high. My wings stretched wide like a blazing sword...a tempest tossed...we fought a war... Killed me, he did not achieve. But in the midst..he broke my wing... I felt the pain the wound...the hurt.. My soar descended down to Earth. In the doldrums of despair and pain...my flight was hindered by Satan's sting. I saw the valley..deep and wide...I felt the terror, wanted to hide...the deafening sound of his taunts they roared... All Of a sudden I heard you whisper SOAR. I hide in a cave my spirit weak...my discouragement overwhelming....I could not speak. Hot tears of despair from my eyes did flow....my wing is broken Lord! How can I soar? You hid from the evil ones wrath...surprised...he used other warriors to launch the attack. The action of murder from any enemy was sin...but the terrible thing..is it came from my friend.... Oh Jesus please help me I cried out in shame...why did my brother cause me this pain? I grieved and I wept over this heinous attack, the only way I endured was from a supernatural act. In the secret quiet cave of your love...you bound up the wing...you plucked the old feathers and told me to sing. Quiet songs of worship..drew you so near. Thank you Lord Jesus for just being here.

I love the friends that LORD has given,,there is a special group that is so God Ordained that it is amazing.  They are wonderful saved Spirit filled young women who God has surrounded me with.  The amazing thing about it is some of them were born well after I was in my thirties, but they are my friends.  Lyse, Liz, Elaine, Selina, Shereta..to name a few! As well as my daughters Reesie and Rennie and their friends.

Can you imagine me walking down the street decades ago, and someone telling me that a baby that is sitting in a stroller, would be my confidante or laughing partner. God is so amazing that
has saved these divas, homegirls, BFFs and all around beautiful women to be my Ruths..in my later years!

In this journey they have refreshed me, encouraged me, visited me, listened to me and kept me company.  We talk about life, shoes, hair, clothes and relationships. We talk about the Lord and HIS goodness.  My own daughters are not physically in the area where I live.  I miss them..but they are living there lives. For this I am grateful. So I am ecstatic about the vibrant group that comes around me.

I am glad that I understand about mini dresses and halter tops..platform shoes and high heel boots, these make them (my Ruths)who they are young..youthful and daring..Many years ago my friends and I were the flamboyant peacocks..free...no kids..no attachments. We loved life with an abandon and a zest. Some of them are now whispers, vapors, gone to be with the LORD. The memory of their chatter and youth passes through my memory, my mind like the loveliest perfume. They are forever young and dancing, laughing whispering sharing secrets.

We are now(my peers) the Grandmas..Nanas, Grannies, Grammies and Glamas..but praise be to God..He saved something for me in my Autumn.  They are the Ruths. We love each other and enjoy the LORD together,  we live life, have tea parties, admire each others hair and nails, eat and fellowship together.  We clasp hands in prayer..mine a little wrinkled..theirs still smooth. We celebrate life, Jesus and each other.  I am so glad that the LORD decided to keep me watered and connected to life. Hey I even brought me a pair of platforms.. youth revisited...but I always keep a pair of flats in the tote bag! LOL!  Only a few hours wear for me.  I will leave those to my lovely Ruth friends to wear all day. They stand tall in their destiny, walking with our God and allowing me into their space of time to enjoy and learn from them..  Thank you Jesus for not releasing these women into the Earth until I reached my thirties. Your timing is always impeccable!  They have intersected my life and brought company and joy! Hey..and I know how to text..with ease..LOL!

Don't Be Weary!

Thought for the day! When the Lord says be not weary in well doing, it is because it takes work to do well. Excellence in relationships and life takes focus and determination. We live in a world that is selfish and self centered. The mantra is what about me? To do well towards others will always be a sacrifice, of time, service, money, strength and love. So keep doing good, even if it hurts. I promise there is a vast harvest of gratitude that is coming back to you!

Looking for Boaz

Thought for the Day..I always hear women saying that their Boaz is coming.
Did you know Ruth was a hard worker?! Unlike Esther who was in preparation to be the Queen of Persia, pampered and prepared. Ruth was prepared in the crucible of hardship and a strong work ethic. She was the sole provider for her family, a stranger in a land that rejected Moabites, a widow. She had the odds stacked against her. She went out during harvest to glean in the fields. The poor, gleaned th...e fields of the prosperous, who were admonished by the LORD to leave some of the crop in the field for the poor.
If you know anything about harvesting or picking crops..it is hard work. You arise early before the sun comes out so it won't be hot! You exert yourself physically to gather your harvest. You must wear clothing that protects you from the environment, your shoes must accommodate the terrain. You sweat! No nails, hair and red bottoms please! She worked by the sweat of her brow. Boaz observed her HARD WORK and Service to her Mother in law.
When Naomi told Ruth to put on her best and perfume, that is because Boaz always saw her in work clothes. It is like wearing a uniform all the time then you show up at the Formal..laid out in all your finery and someone says.. "Who's that Lady?"
Ruth and Rebecca were working hard serving, when they were noticed..so if you expect an Isaac or Boaz. .SERVE. Yes, Esther was Queen, but she was in competition with hundreds if women. Ruth was noticed for her integrity of character, strength and faithfulness to her poor, broken Mother in law Naomi. Boaz heard about her good works and observed her diligent spirit of excellence. :Likewise,Rebecca was watering the camels. They were not working to be noticed or get a husband, they were working because they loved their families! Commitment reaped a reward!
So if you are LOOKING.... for Boaz to come, STOP! The man who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord! Boaz is looking for a faithful, strong servant of the LORD. Work and serve the LORD..gather in harvest time. The Lord will bless you for your service to him. He knows what you need...Hey..keep that dress ready though and that perfume. You never know about that suddenly! LOL!
Holler!!!! Hallelujah, today..it is the truth anyhow! and God Bless you! As my dear friend First Lady Shereta Hill-Middleton would say..and now I "DROP THE MIKE!" Dr. Joyce Taylor Moten

Solid Jesus!

Thought for the day...Never put your complete trust in anything other then the Lord and His Word! They are completely infallible, never changing, stable and faithful. Man will change, forget, and disappoint, but the gracious and powerful, Lord Jesus, never misses a deadline, breaks a promise or procrastinates. He will fed, you, clothe you, comfort, and keep you. He is our Boaz, Kinsmen Redeemer. He will bless you and not ask for it back. He is not shaky, or vacillating. He doesn't sleep, always has time for your call(prayer). His car doesn't break down, he never gets tired of your problems, he won't delete your number, even if you do him wrong! You don't have to track him down.. When you call His name JESUS,HE WILL COME AND SEE ABOUT YOU! Make Him your friend and serve. Song says "On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand." Are you crying because you built your trust on a sandy situation or person? Dry those tears! Don't worry.. the real ROCK, the Chief Cornerstone. .JESUS still stands and He will support every word.. that he has proclaimed!
Holler! and have a blessed day! Dr. Joyce Taylor Moten
